All stories are read to make sure they adhere to our simple yet very specific guidelines.   There are no refunds, so please make sure you adhere to the guideline requirements:

GUIDELINES

--  Since this is a "story-based" site, we prefer that you not send poetry.  There are plenty other sites where you can publish your poems.

-- Absolutely no graphic pornography.  It's one thing the write "He fondled her in a special place" as opposed to spelling it out to the letter.  Adults will get it but children don't have to.  This site is open to young and old, so please consider that when you submit your story.  Don't waste your money, because there are no refunds and we WILL NOT publish graphic pornography (to get an idea of the allowed parameters, please read "El Espectro” at The Reader Box, a story with sexual content that’s strongly implied but is not explicit).

-- No defaming stories, i.e. stories with the intent of demoting a race, social or religious group. 

-- Word-count cannot be more than 10,000 words per story.  Use your "word count" feature to make sure you do not exceed this requirement.   The story's title, author's  name, email address and logline are not a part of the count.
 
WHAT YOU GET

Your story will be featured for six months.  Your email address should appear under your name so you may receive feedback (example on the Submit My Story page).  Please include a logline (meaning a short sentence about your story) that's compelling enough to entice people to read it.  Since feedback is the price for the free read, we encourage readers to give their opinion, because feedback can help you ( the author) hone your writing skills.  Better is what you can do with multiple good feedback to promote your writing talent. 

EXPOSURE

Once a story is approved it will be posted for six months.  To drive traffic to the site, THE READER'S BOX is advertised in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and and other English-speaking countries to contineously drive traffic to the site.

PROTECT YOUR STORY

You can choose one of two options to right-protect your work:

1.  Send yourself a registered copy of your story via U.S. mail.  Make sure that it is put away where no one will open it.  

2.  Currently the price is $20.00 to obtain a U.S. copyright.  This option is well worth the price when it comes to protecting your scribed works.
